Showcase your unlimited energy, positive attitude, creativity, and love of working with active, young minds as a Daycamp Counselor!  The Village of Orland Park's Recreation Department Camp Team welcomes talented, fun-loving, experienced individuals who can create and encourage young enrollees to participate in various daily activities, while promoting social develpment, responsibililty and creativity.

 

Key Responsibilities

As a Daycamp Counselor you will:

  • plan and implement lesson plans and activities
  • supervise campers daily, during scheduled weekly swimming activities, and during field trips generally scheduled every Friday
  • provide campers the opportunity to practice and develop appropriate social skills, and learn to make responsible choices
  • strive to provide the campers with a fun environment that is positive, supervised, and safe
  • provide assistance to the Program Coordinators for various camps including Buddies (1st & 2nd grade), Voyagers (3rd & 4th grade), Adventurers (5th - 7th grade), and Pals After Camp (1st through 7th grade)

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

College coursework in elementary education or related field is required. Previous experience working with children is preferred. Day Camp participants are aged 6-12 years old. Orientation begins end of May. 

 

Shifts available are:

  5-Day: Monday – Friday from 9am to 3pm

OR

3-Day: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9am to 3pm.
