The Streets Division is now seeking responsible, enthusiastic individuals to assist them in performing varied maintenance and construction tasks relative to the village's right of ways as a Seasonal Maintenance employee.  

Key Responsibilities

This position will mainly assist full-time staff in:

  • performing building and ground maintenance
  • mixing mortar and like construction materials
  • crack sealing, concrete, asphalt, street marking
  • clearing worksite areas of debris
  • shoveling, loading/unloading, and transporting materials with wheelbarrows

In addition, various other duties may be assigned. This work is primarily performed outdoors and the hours will be adjusted by management based on inclement weather.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

  • High school diploma is required
  • Valid driver’s license is required
  • Prior facility or outdoor maintenance experience preferred
  • Skill in the use of hand tools, electrical, gas powered, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other construction tool is preferred
  • Ability to perform manual tasks requiring physical strength and endurance is required  

 

Ideal position for a college student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in construction or construction management.  These are SEASONAL positions scheduled from mid-May through mid-August scheduled to work 40 hours per week Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:00pm.  

 

Must be available to work modified schedule for special events including 4th of July and Taste of Orland Park in early August.
