The Utilities Division is now seeking responsible, enthusiastic individuals to assist them in performing varied maintenance and construction tasks relative to the village's right of ways as a Seasonal Maintenance employee during the 2020 summer season.  

Key Responsibilities

This position will mainly assist full-time staff in:

  • performing building and ground maintenance
  • mixing mortar and like construction materials
  • clearing worksite areas of debris
  • shoveling, sweeping, mopping as needed
  • load/unload/carrying materials
  • transporting materials with wheelbarrows and various duties as assigned

   This work is primarily performed outdoors and the hours will be adjusted by management based on inclement weather.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

  • Must have a High school diploma   
  • A valid Driver's License   
  • Prior maintenance, construction or other related experience preferred 
  • Skill in the use of hand tools, electrical, gas powered, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other construction tools preferred
  • Ability to perform manual tasks requiring physical strength and endurance  

Ideal position for a college student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a science/environmental/engineering field.  These are SEASONAL positions from mid-May through mid-August scheduled to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday 7:00am to 3:00pm.

 

Must be available to work a modified schedule for special events including 4th of July and Taste of Orland Park in early August.
