Our very visible streets division of our Public Works Department currently seeks a dedicated, talented individual to join our team as Public Improvement Technician II. The Public Improvement Technician II is responsible for review and implementation of engineering, transportation, and development plans in accordance with industry and Village codes and standards. This position is responsible for the coordination and communication among permitting agencies, engineering consultants, and contractors. This position assists in the formulation and implementation of the Village’s five (5) year Capital Improvement Program for road work. Road work includes street repairs for main arteries and neighborhood streets, parking lot repairs, bike path repairs, curb repairs, sidewalk repairs/ADA compliance, striping, and crack sealing. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for inspections and conformance to established standards of public improvements. This position is responsible for performing para-technical engineering work, including calculations based on civil and general engineering formulas.

The Part-time Cashier II is responsible for performing general clerical duties, primarily of a financial nature. Work is of routine difficulty and is reviewed for conformance by the Financial Services Manager.
The Special Recreation Division offers positive and healthy recreation programming focused on leisure, social, educational, and vocational opportunities within the community for individuals with special needs with a team of talented, dedicated, knowledgeable, and experienced staff. Programming also includes the largest south suburban community of Special Olympics in the state of Illinois with over 300 participants.
