The Village of Orland Park's Streets Division is now seeking responsible, enthusiastic individuals to work as Seasonal Maintenance employees during the 2018 summer season.
This position will mainly assist full-time staff in performing building and ground maintenance, mixing mortar and like construction materials, clearing worksites areas of debris, shoveling, transporting materials with wheelbarrows, load/unload/carrying materials, performing other tasks such as sweeping, and various duties as assigned. This work is primarily performed outdoors and the hours will be adjusted by management based on inclement weather.
High school diploma is required. Valid driver’s license is required, Class C preferred. Prior facility or outdoor maintenance experience preferred. Must have skill in the use of hand tools, electrical, gas powered, hydraulic, and pneumatic and other construction tools. Ability to perform manual tasks requiring physical strength and endurance is required.
Ideal position for a college student pursing a bachelor’s degree in construction or construction management. These are SEASONAL positions scheduled from mid-May through mid-August scheduled to work 40 hours per week Monday through Friday 7:00 to 3:30pm.
Must be available to work modified schedule for special events including 4th of July and Taste of Orland Park in early August.
