The Village of Orland Park's Utilities Division is now seeking responsible, enthusiastic individuals to work as Seasonal Maintenance employees during the 2018 summer season.
This position will mainly assist full-time staff in performing building and ground maintenance, mixing mortar and like construction materials, clearing worksites areas of debris, shoveling, transporting materials with wheelbarrows, load/unload/carrying materials, performing other tasks such as sweeping, and various duties as assigned. This work is primarily performed outdoors and the hours will be adjusted by management based on inclement weather.
High school diploma is required. A valid Class 'D' Drivers License is required. Previous maintenance, construction or other related experience preferred. Must have skill in the use of hand tools, electrical, gas powered, hydraulic, and pneumatic and other construction tools. Ability to perform manual tasks requiring physical strength and endurance is required.
Ideal position for a college student pursing a bachelor’s degree in a science/environmental/engineering discipline. These are SEASONAL positions from mid-May through mid-August scheduled to work 40 hours per week Monday through Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm.
Must be available to work modified schedule for special events including 4th of July and Taste of Orland Park in early August.
